Description
This single malt is crafted at Arran’s Lochranza Distillery with a blend of Scottish-grown malted barley, and fresh water from nearby Loch na Davie, reputedly the source of the purest water in Scotland.
Once the malts have been fermented with yeast, the ‘wash’ is then double distilled in copper pot stills, before being laid down to mature in ex-bourbon casks, where the oak wood imparts its natural colour and character.
Isle of Arran Distillers bottle this single malt at 43% abv and choose to lightly filter this fine single malt whisky.
Scottish-grown malted barley, yeast, Loch na Davie water, matured in 100% bourbon barrels.
Perhaps the most versatile of Arran’s whiskies, Barrel Reserve is excellent served neat or over ice, but is just as perfectly suited when it comes to mixing in cocktails and long serves.
Try with Cream Soda, ice and mint, or in a cocktail with Italicus Rosolio, cloudy lemonade, ice and a lemon wedge.
