Description
KAVKA Estate Vodka takes us back to a time when each distillery in Poland would produce spirits that emphasised taste and individuality rather than trying to filter them out.
To a blend of fine Rye and Wheat spirits the distiller adds small quantities of aged pot-stilled fruit spirits – Apple and Plum.
The Apple brings a crisp acidity while the Plum gives the vodka it’s sweetness and depth.
These spirits are produced at a small distillery in the east of Poland using old local fruit varieties. Distilled to 80% which gives a very clean spirit, but which still retains all the fruit flavours, natural sweetness and character. The vodka is then rested and gently filtered to remove any impurities but retaining all the flavour. This method was used extensively in the 19th century and was famed for making the best vodkas.
The result is a vodka with a depth, complexity and a smoothness rarely found.
TASTING NOTES An elegant indulgent mouth feel. A light richness emerges and then intensifies into a lemon freshness with Orange marmalade notes.
Followed by a luscious rich dry flavour with grain and rye bread notes. The finish has a rich dry balance with emerging fruit notes of apples and prunes.
